I'm running because I believe we can build a vision that is most representative of the views and ideas of all in our community. I believe we lead through the power of our inspiration, support, care, and equity, and I hope to do my part in upholding and growing that further where it counts! Giving Everyone a Voice
I believe strongly in leading a platform to create the most representative vision forward for our community. I believe we shine best when we bring forward ideas and values that everyone has. That's why I intend to push for greater accessibility to our public meetings and create dedicated channels to connect with AS directly and seamlessly with regularly available online resources, expanded in person avenues to bring forward your ideas, and more organization surrounding idea and suggestion submission. Even small ideas, put together, can bring about significant change, and that's how I believe we'll build the best future forward for our campus because I don't intend on being president for our student body. I intend on being president with our student body!
Caring for our Environment
We'll uphold our sustainable and green commitments through expanded collaboration and organization with our sustainable teams and committees to maintain our campus beauty, and work towards our long-term impact. This semester, I've worked closely with my fellow senator, Josh Davidson, to support his resolution that will begin to advocate towards meaningful impact in making individual sustainable actions more accessible with expanded recycling and composting stations, supporting major climate plans such as Mesa 2030, and expanding on solutions such as EV charging stations. I'll continue those efforts while also advocating to district levels towards multiple items such as making it easier to sign up to volunteer opportunities such as our Mesa Garden to encourage more people to join those efforts and reach more accessible and environmental milestones.
Inspiring and Supporting others to Succeed
Ultimately, I stand to continue to serve the number one purpose I believe all of us in AS have to do what we do: to support our students and community through our services, resources, and events. I believe we're here to make life in college just a bit easier and more enjoyable, from advocating on major legislation to simply being there to support the mental wellness of students during difficult points of the semester. I'll support key points of action and advocation such as to bring lower costs to essential supplies, and I believe in creating payment plans to help make it just a bit easier to spread out the weight of getting school supplies. I also support making it just a bit easier to vote during key election days, and I intend to advocate up to district levels towards bringing a plan to lower the cost, and ultimately, provide transportation passes for our students to ease their accessibility to campus while also supporting an important environmental milestone. Overall, these platform pieces will also be the results of the input provided by others who will help to guide the ship in the ideal direction for all.
